Kansas City Man Caught on Camera Beating Rottweiler; Dog Safe, Investigation Underway Kansas City, MO – A disturbing incident of animal abuse has unfolded in Kansas City, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities. Daryl Brown, a resident of the area near 24th and Jackson streets, was captured on video assaulting his one-year-old Rottweiler, Samson, with a baseball bat. While Brown initially denied the allegations to the media, he later confessed to animal cruelty to Kansas City Animal Control, stating that he abused Samson because the dog was "uncooperative." The Kansas City Pet Project, which is now caring for Samson, confirmed that the dog sustained no injuries during the attack. "I beat my dog," Brown reportedly told investigators, according to a statement released by animal control. "That's my fourth Rottweiler, and every one of them's been happy." Despite the confession, Brown's cooperation with authorities remains limited. Kate McGee, the recently appointed CEO of the Kansas City Pet Project, is actively collaborating with prosecutors to ensure justice for Samson. The Pet Project expressed gratitude for the community’s support in bringing this case to light and emphasized the importance of community involvement in protecting animals. The investigation continues, and charges against Brown are pending.
