
Florida Man's Six-Year Flight Scam Lands Him in Hot Water
A Florida man, Teron Alexander, 35, has been arrested and charged with fraud after allegedly obtaining over 120 free flights by impersonating a flight attendant. Alexander used a website exclusively for flight crew to book flights between 2018 and 2024. According to a press release, he used 30 different badge numbers and dates to book his no-cost flights with Southwest, American, and Delta Airlines. He was convicted on June 5th of wire fraud and entering a secure area of an airport by false pretenses. Alexander's sentencing is scheduled for August 25th; he faces a maximum of 30 years in prison. "This case highlights the importance of secure online systems and the consequences of exploiting them," said a law enforcement official. The case serves as a reminder of the need for robust security measures to prevent similar incidents.
