William Rath, a hotel guest, shared his account of being bitten and scratched by a Border Collie while walking downstairs to pick up a food delivery. "The second the dog looks at me, it immediately jumps from the lady, charges at me, and attacks me," Rath stated, describing how the dog bit his arm and scratched his legs. He noted that the owner, who appeared to have difficulty controlling the dog, simply walked away after the incident without offering an apology. Rath reported the attack to the hotel management, primarily seeking the dog's vaccination information due to concerns about rabies. He initially hesitated to pursue further action, stating, "I didn't want to report it because I'm like, I don't want this dog to be put down because of like a small bite on me." However, hotel management later informed him that the same dog had also "fully bit a maintenance worker" that same night, an attack described as "pretty bad." Adding to the complexity, the dog was not a registered guest but was visiting someone staying at the hotel. When confronted by the hotel manager, the dog's owner reportedly "denied her dog attacking me" and "tried to deny everything," despite the manager confirming Rath's injuries. The hotel has since declared the dog unwelcome on its premises, and the maintenance worker's severe bite necessitated a report to the state authorities.
