Bride confronts mystery wedding crasher — after searching nonstop for 4 years
The bride said, “I do … not know this guy.”
Four years after her wedding, Michelle received an unexpected shock when reviewing her professional photographs: a complete stranger was prominently featured throughout the ceremony and even in group shots. The bride, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared her bewilderment with online content creator Dazza's Reviews, initiating a social media challenge to identify the mystery guest. Dazza's subsequent post, featuring the wedding photos with the stranger circled, quickly went viral. Within a mere two hours, the individual was identified as Andrew, who then provided a detailed account of the mix-up. Andrew explained that he was invited to a friend Michaela's wedding as a plus-one. However, he was mistakenly told the event would be held at the Carlton Hotel in Prestwick, when the actual venue was the Great Western Hotel in Ayr. "I parked my car and rushed inside," Andrew recounted in a statement provided to Dazza. "I make my way into the hall and saw the groom standing and waiting nervously. I had never met Michaela's husband before so I thought 'alright, this must be Ben'." He further elaborated on the moment of realization: "Then the music started. Everyone stands up and turns around to watch the bride walk down the aisle and 'OMG that's not Michaela who the F is that?' I was at the wrong wedding! The thing is, you can't exactly stand up and walk out of a wedding mid ceremony so I just had to commit to this act." Andrew spent the next 20 minutes attempting to be as inconspicuous as possible before eventually making his way to the correct wedding. The incident has since become a popular anecdote, with Andrew reportedly becoming "almost as popular as the actual bride and groom" at the correct reception while retelling his story.
