Connecticut LGBTQIA+ Community Building: A New Meetup Group Connects Queer Individuals Across the State LITCHFIELD COUNTY, CT – June 10, 2025 – Abby Schiff, a resident of Litchfield County, is spearheading an initiative to build a stronger LGBTQIA+ community in Connecticut. Schiff, who identifies as queer, recently launched "Building the Rainbow," a new Meetup group designed to connect LGBTQIA+ individuals across the state. The group plans to organize monthly events to foster friendships and create a supportive network. "Are you looking for friends with similar values? Hoping to build LGBTQIA+ community in Connecticut?" Schiff asks in her video announcement. "You’re invited to join Building the Rainbow," she adds, emphasizing the group's inclusivity and welcoming atmosphere. The group is open to members of all genders, sexualities, and backgrounds, with a particular focus on those in their 20s and 30s. Schiff hopes to create a space where people can connect, make new friends, and build lasting relationships.
