Knox Pride Community & Resource Center, which operates the pantry, has seen funding cut, leaving their shelves nearly empty. "I was standing in line earlier, and I opened my phone and saw this," said John Camp, a local resident who filmed a video to raise awareness of the food pantry's plight. "Looks like they've kind of hit their breaking point." Camp, who goes by the nickname "Your Barefoot Neighbor" on social media, was so moved by the situation that he immediately took action. He located the pantry's Amazon wishlist and began purchasing items himself. He then filmed a short video, sharing the wishlist link and encouraging others to contribute. The wishlist contains standard food pantry items such as canned goods, crackers, and hygiene products. Camp's video has already garnered significant attention, demonstrating the power of social media in mobilizing community support. "I thought I'd make a quick video and share it with y'all," Camp said in his video. "If anybody wants to pitch in and help, y'all know I'll never ask you to do anything I wouldn't do myself." The Knox Pride Community & Resource Center expresses gratitude for the outpouring of support, highlighting the importance of community solidarity in times of need. The pantry remains open Tuesday through Saturday, offering assistance without barriers or paperwork. This collective effort underscores the resilience and compassion within the Knoxville community.
