This Frustrated Real Estate Agent's Rant About The Real Cause Of The Housing Cr…

A Delaware-based realtor, Zachary Foust, has garnered significant attention online by shifting his focus from selling homes to dissecting the systemic issues he believes are making homeownership increasingly out of reach for the working class. Foust, who initially leveraged social media to boost his real estate sales, states he earned over $400,000 with his wife, allowing them financial freedom. However, he soon realized this success was not universally accessible. "I had a VIP front-row seat to watching the American Dream get sifted away from the working class," Foust explained. His research led him to conclude that a series of historical legislative changes, including the removal of regulations in the 1980s and the rise of private equity margins in the early 2000s, have contributed to asset inflation, particularly in housing. He argues that institutional investors are buying up properties and "banking on asset inflation," effectively "draining out the bottom of our economy" and "the working class income." Foust highlights that bills aimed at curtailing private equity or corporate buyers often fail to pass, suggesting a powerful lobbying influence. He posits that the ultimate goal for billionaires is "to orchestrate control of your ideology on the people," promoting wealth transfer rather than promoting equality. Despite initial success in real estate, Foust now feels compelled to speak out, stating, "I don't want to just sell homes, I want to start a change for something so that you can get in on the wealth or we could change the system." He concludes that unless collective action is taken, nothing will change, as the same decisions continue to benefit the same billionaires.
