
Malaysian Police Bust Gangs Stealing Water Meters and Gas Cylinders
Kuala Muda Police Crack Down on Water Meter and Gas Cylinder Theft Kuala Muda, Malaysia – In a recent operation, local police successfully dismantled two criminal gangs responsible for a string of thefts targeting water meters and gas cylinders. The gangs, known as 'Geng Bob' and 'Geng Aji,' were brought down following an investigation and surveillance operation. Two suspects, both in their thirties, were apprehended while attempting to sell the stolen items. "The suspects were detained near Kuala Muda while conducting transactions," stated ACP Han Yan Ramlan, Kuala Muda District Police Chief. The police raid resulted in the recovery of 45 stolen water meter casings, a substantial amount of copper wire, and 21 gas cylinders. The investigation also revealed that the suspects used the proceeds of their crimes to purchase vehicles. "They even bought a motorcycle with the money from the thefts," added ACP Ramlan. Both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine. The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft and Section 457 for housebreaking. This successful operation serves as a testament to the dedication of Kuala Muda's police force and their commitment to ensuring community safety.
