Amoi Murder Case Moved to Kuching High Court; DNA Evidence Complete
The murder case of Nurul Asikin, known as 'Amoi', has taken a significant turn with its transfer to the Kuching High Court in Malaysia. Deputy Public Prosecutor Jean Siow Chung Hwei revealed that the crucial DNA evidence from the autopsy and extracted WhatsApp messages are now available to the court. This development follows the arrest of Zakwan Mukhtar, who is charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for the murder. "The DNA report and WhatsApp data are now ready," stated Ms. Siow in court. The case gained attention after Zakwan Mukhtar confessed to the murder to police, revealing his motive was to steal 'Amoi's jewelry to fund a trip to watch a football match in Cambodia. Zakwan, currently detained at Puncak Borneo Prison, awaits trial under Section 302 of the Penal Code. The case highlights the importance of thorough investigation and the timely processing of forensic evidence in bringing justice to victims of violent crime.
