

Malaysia and Uzbekistan Strengthen Legal Cooperation Through New MOU
Malaysia and Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 31, 2025, to enhance cooperation in legal matters. Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform), stated that this MoU strengthens bilateral ties. The agreement includes the exchange of publicly accessible legal documents and capacity building programs such as training and seminars. Uzbekistan's Minister of Justice, Akhbar Tashkulov, also expressed commitment to the collaboration. This MoU will also facilitate the use of AI in legal systems, improving access to justice and alternative dispute resolution. The MoU was signed during Azalina's official working visit to Tashkent. The collaboration signifies a positive step towards strengthening legal frameworks and promoting justice in both nations.
