Five Reckless Drivers Arrested in Melaka Road Bully Crackdown Melaka, Malaysia – Five individuals were arrested for reckless and dangerous driving during a comprehensive operation targeting road bullies on Saturday. The operation, conducted along Lebuh Sungai Udang-Paya Rumput-Ayer Keroh (SPA) in Melaka, involved 50 officers from various police departments, including the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Division and the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department. "The operation involved a total of 50 officers and resulted in 161 vehicles and 181 individuals being inspected," said Melaka Police Chief Datuk Zulkhairi Mukhtar in a statement on Sunday. He added that 26 motorcycles were also seized and 174 summonses were issued for various offenses, including driving without a license, expired road tax, and failing to stop for inspection. One individual was also arrested for displaying a fake registration number. The operation, which ran from 11:30 PM Saturday to 9:00 AM Sunday, underscores the ongoing efforts to curb reckless driving and improve road safety in Melaka. The significant number of summonses issued highlights the prevalence of traffic violations and the need for increased enforcement.
