KTM Komuter and ETS Face Major Delays in Klang Valley
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - June 3, 2025 - Train commuters in the Klang Valley faced significant delays today due to system migration work on the KTM Komuter and ETS lines. The delays, affecting routes between stations like Kepong and Salak Selatan, are part of the Klang Valley Double Tracking (KVDT) Phase 1 project. "The work involves upgrading the signaling system to improve efficiency," explained Mohamad Zain Mat Taha, KTMB's Chief Operating Officer. He also apologized for the inconvenience caused by the delays. The project, which began in 2015, aims to modernize the railway infrastructure and increase capacity. While the majority of the work is expected to be completed by April, the signaling system upgrade will continue until the project's full completion in 2029. KTMB assures commuters that this upgrade will ultimately lead to a more reliable and efficient train service.
