Malaysia Ensures Sufficient Livestock Supply for 2025 Eid al-Adha
Malaysia's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) has confirmed that there will be a sufficient supply of livestock for the 2025 Eid al-Adha celebrations. The ministry assures that there will be enough animals to meet the demand, and that there are adequate abattoirs and comprehensive guidelines for the slaughtering process. According to the official statement released on Tuesday, the total number of cattle and buffaloes available up to March 2025 is 38,804. The supply of goats and sheep is expected to exceed 30,167. This exceeds the estimated demand. Twenty-seven abattoirs owned by the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) are ready to operate, supported by 40 licensed private abattoirs. Individuals performing sacrifices outside registered abattoirs, such as in mosques or housing estates, must obtain the necessary permits. The DVS encourages everyone to follow the provided slaughtering guidelines to ensure a smooth and regulated process. The abundance of livestock and the preparedness of abattoirs ensure a successful and organized Eid al-Adha celebration in Malaysia.
