Malaysia's MALBATT 850-12 Peacekeepers Celebrate Gawai and Kaamatan in Lebanon In a heartwarming display of cultural diplomacy, members of the Malaysian Battalion (MALBATT) 850-12 serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) recently hosted a vibrant Gawai and Kaamatan celebration at Camp Tibnin. The event, which took place on June 4th, 2025, brought together peacekeepers from various nations to experience the rich traditions of Sabah and Sarawak. The celebration featured captivating performances of traditional dances, including the Ngajat from Sarawak and the Sumandak from Sabah.
