MALBATT 850-12 Celebrates Gawai and Kaamatan in Lebanon In a heartwarming display of cultural diplomacy, members of the Malaysian Battalion (MALBATT) 850-12 celebrated the harvests festivals of Gawai and Kaamatan in Lebanon. The event, held at the UNIFIL sector west, saw traditional dances, a harvest ceremony, and the presentation of gifts to high-ranking UNIFIL officials. The celebrations served as a bridge between cultures, fostering understanding and camaraderie. "This event was a wonderful opportunity to share our traditions with the international community," said Colonel Johan Effendi Mohamad Salih, Commander of MALBATT 850-12. The festivities included performances of traditional dances from Sabah and Sarawak, along with a symbolic harvest ceremony.
