Comfort for the Elderly: Malaysia's Hajj Transport Initiative
Malaysia's Hajj Pilgrimage: Special Buses Ensure Comfort for Elderly and Ill Pilgrims This year's Hajj pilgrimage sees a significant improvement in the care provided for elderly and ill pilgrims from Malaysia. The Malaysian government, in collaboration with Tabung Haji and Al-Masyair, has implemented a special transportation program utilizing eight modified buses. These buses, equipped with beds, ensure a comfortable journey for the approximately 31,600 pilgrims traveling from Mecca to the Arafah Plain. The 20km journey, usually a challenging one for the elderly, is expected to take 45-60 minutes. Datuk Dr. Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), stated, "The buses are specially modified to ensure the comfort of our elderly and ill pilgrims." This initiative demonstrates Malaysia's commitment to providing the best possible care for its citizens during the Hajj pilgrimage. The smooth and efficient transportation ensures a more comfortable and dignified experience for those who may require extra assistance.
