Selangor Aero Park: KLIA's Gateway to ASEAN Air Cargo Dominance
Selangor Aero Park poised to make KLIA a leading ASEAN air cargo hub. The Selangor Aero Park (SAP) project, a 242.81-hectare development near Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), is set to significantly boost Malaysia's economy and create thousands of jobs. The project, a collaboration between Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and the Selangor State Government, received full support from Transport Minister Anthony Loke. "This is a very important and strategic joint effort," Loke stated during the groundbreaking ceremony. The project is expected to generate RM55.2 billion annually and create 32,000 high-skilled jobs by 2030, according to the report. The park will house various aerospace industries, including aircraft maintenance, component manufacturing, and avionics. Advanced security technologies, such as CCTV and facial recognition, will be implemented. The project's phased rollout will align with infrastructure readiness and industry demand. The initial phase will open 89.4 hectares to investors, with GE Aerospace as a major tenant. This initiative underscores Malaysia's commitment to becoming a regional leader in the aerospace sector.
