Malaysia Highway Authority Warns of Midday Traffic Congestion
Smooth Traffic Flow in Malaysia Expected to Congest by Noon Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – June 6, 2025 – The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) reported this morning that traffic flow on major highways across the country remains smooth. However, they anticipate significant congestion by midday, particularly as the Eid al-Adha holiday approaches. "Traffic flow to the east coast and south from the capital city is still smooth as of 10 am," said an LLM spokesperson. "However, we expect congestion to increase as we approach midday." The spokesperson added that real-time traffic information is available through the PLUS toll-free line and the LLM Traffic website. Meanwhile, Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria, Pasir Putih District Police Chief, confirmed that traffic flow at the Pasir Putih border crossing in Kelantan, Terengganu, remained smooth as of 9 am. The LLM advises motorists to plan their journeys accordingly and utilize available resources to monitor traffic conditions throughout the day. The smooth morning traffic offers a temporary reprieve before the expected afternoon congestion.
