Aidil Adha Exodus: Malaysian Highways Busier Than Usual
Aidil Adha Holiday Traffic: Malaysian Highways Experience Increased Congestion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – June 6, 2025 – Malaysian highways are experiencing increased traffic volume as city residents travel to their hometowns for the Aidil Adha holiday. According to a report by Berita RTM, traffic flow is particularly heavy on major routes heading north and east. "Since 4 PM today, our monitoring of the visual displays at the LLM Traffic Management Center shows that the flow on major highways toward the north and east coast remains smooth and under control," stated Nurul Asmawati Harun, speaking from the LLM Bangi headquarters. However, she cautioned that this situation could change later in the evening. Mohd Danish Ikram Mohd Rodi, Operations Monitoring Supervisor at LLM, confirmed that the current increase is in line with projections. "Compared to last night, we've recorded 689,000 vehicles using the highways today, compared to 652,000 yesterday," he stated. This increase is expected to continue until midnight. The report concludes with additional updates on traffic conditions from other locations.
