
Minister Loke Praises AirAsia Crew After Storm Diverts Flight
A flight from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur, carrying Transport Minister Anthony Loke, was forced to divert to Penang due to severe weather on June 7, 2025. The AirAsia flight experienced turbulent conditions and strong winds, causing a delay of almost four hours. Minister Loke took to social media to commend the AirAsia captain, Tan Huah Jer, and first officer Bryan Alexander Yin Kian Yam, for their calm and professional handling of the situation. "The Captain managed the situation very well by communicating very clearly to the passengers," Loke stated in a Facebook post. He also praised the cabin crew for their care and professionalism. The flight eventually landed safely at KLIA at 2:40 am.
