Eleventh Malaysian Hajj Pilgrim Passes Away in Mecca A somber cloud hangs over the Malaysian Hajj pilgrimage this year, as another pilgrim, Jamaliah Masron, 68, from Kota Tinggi, Johor, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 6:05 PM local time. She succumbed to a heart attack at the Abraj Al-Janadriyah emergency clinic in Mecca. This brings the total number of Malaysian pilgrims who have died during the 1446H/2025M Hajj season to eleven. The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr. Mohamed Na'im Mokhtar, confirmed the news and stated that Tabung Haji (THJ), Malaysia's pilgrimage fund, has taken care of all necessary arrangements, including the deceased's bathing, funeral prayers at Masjidil Haram, and burial in Mecca. THJ has also informed the family in Malaysia and extended their deepest condolences. "Tabung Haji has taken care of all the necessities related to the deceased," said Datuk Dr. Mohamed Na'im Mokhtar, adding that this includes the funeral arrangements in Mecca. The THJ's swift actions and support for the bereaved family demonstrate a commitment to assisting Malaysian pilgrims during this challenging time.
