Eleventh Malaysian Pilgrim Death Confirmed in Saudi Arabia The death toll of Malaysian pilgrims during the 1446 Hijri Hajj season has risen to eleven, following the passing of Jamaliah Masrun, 68, from Kota Tinggi, Johor. Datuk Dr. Mohammad Na'im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, confirmed the death, stating that Jamaliah passed away on Monday at 6:05 PM Saudi Arabian time due to a heart attack. "All arrangements, including the washing, funeral prayer at Masjidil Haram, and burial in Mecca, have been fully handled by Tabung Haji," he said. Ten of the eleven deaths were attributed to heart attacks, while one death on June 4th was due to a food infection and organ failure.
