
Terengganu Offers Aid After Fatal UPSI Student Bus Crash
A tragic bus accident claimed the lives of 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students in Gerik, Perak, on Monday. The Terengganu state government responded swiftly, announcing a one-off financial aid package of RM3,000 for each of the 15 bereaved families. "This assistance is a sign of our care and solidarity with the families who have suffered this terrible loss," said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar in a press conference. In addition to the aid for the families of the deceased, RM1,000 will be given to each of the 33 families of those injured in the accident. Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar also stressed the need for more serious action to improve road safety, particularly in accident-prone areas.
