This project holds immense significance for the region, according to Datuk Aidel Lariwoo, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak. The bridge will finally connect Tanjung Embang, an area previously separated from the rest of the region by the Sarawak River, opening up access to the planned new Kuching International Airport and a deep-sea port. "This is a significant project to support the development of the new Kuching International Airport and the deep-sea port in Tanjung Embang," stated Datuk Lariwoo during a recent press conference. He further elaborated on the project's impact on reducing traffic congestion between Kuching and Samarahan, estimating a 25-30% reduction in traffic on the existing expressway. The project's timely completion is expected to give a major boost to the economy of the region.
