Cat Caught Smuggling Drugs into Costa Rican Prison

An officer "spotted the animal in the green zone and immediately raised the alarm," according to the Ministry of Justice and Peace. The cat had packages taped to its body containing 235.65g of apparent marijuana and 67.76g of apparent crack cocaine paste. The ministry stated that "the feline was caught and the packages removed." The drugs were seized for examination, and the cat is receiving care. This unusual incident underscores the creativity of drug smugglers and the vigilance of prison authorities. The successful interception prevented the drugs from reaching their intended destination within the prison walls.
