Clever Cat Caught Smuggling Drugs into Costa Rican Prison
Costa Rican authorities intercepted a drug-smuggling operation with an unusual accomplice: a cat. The feline was apprehended near a prison in Costa Rica carrying a significant amount of narcotics. According to police reports, the cat was carrying approximately 235 grams of marijuana and nearly 70 grams of crack cocaine. It is believed inmates befriended the cat, feeding it scraps in exchange for its services. "The inmates were quite clever," stated a police officer involved in the case, "using the cat to bypass security." The incident underscores the creativity used to circumvent prison security measures and the lengths to which inmates will go to get drugs. The cat, thankfully, was unharmed and is now in the care of animal welfare authorities. This unusual case serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by prison systems worldwide.
