A 19-year-old man, Nathan Farr, was fatally shot by Chicago police officers in West Humboldt Park on May 29, 2025, resulting in an officer also being injured. Family and friends gathered at the scene to express their sorrow and demand justice. The incident unfolded when police approached Farr, who then allegedly fled and resisted arrest. According to police reports, Farr's gun discharged, striking an officer. This prompted the officers to return fire, leading to Farr's death. "They killed a baby," exclaimed a distraught family member, highlighting the raw emotions surrounding the event. Farr's father, who declined to be filmed, recounted witnessing the incident from his balcony, stating he saw his son's hands in the air. The family has created a memorial with balloons and candles in Farr's honor.
