Drones Deliver Medicine to Hajj Pilgrims in Emergency Situations
Saudi Arabia deploys drones to deliver medicine during Hajj emergencies. The annual Hajj pilgrimage draws millions of Muslims, and ensuring their safety and well-being is paramount. This year, the Saudi Ministry of Health is utilizing a new system of drones to deliver essential medicines in emergency situations. The technology, provided by NUPCO, allows for rapid delivery of critical supplies, especially in crowded areas where traditional transport methods might be slow or impossible. "This technology will greatly assist us in improving the services provided to the pilgrims," stated Fahad Al-Bat'hi, CEO of NUPCO, in an exclusive interview. The 136 medical centers and field hospitals throughout the Hajj sites are now equipped to receive medicine via drone, enhancing the speed and efficiency of emergency medical response. The successful implementation of this innovative system showcases Saudi Arabia's commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of its citizens and visitors alike.
