AI and Digitalization Streamline Hajj Crowd Management
The annual Hajj pilgrimage, one of the largest gatherings of people globally, saw a significant technological advancement this year. Al Arabiya correspondent Hani Al-Sufyan reported from Mina, near Mecca, on the reduced reliance on human personnel for crowd management. "We're seeing a decrease in the number of people needed to oversee the movement of pilgrims," Al-Sufyan stated, "due to the effective use of AI and digital systems." The video shows pilgrims moving efficiently through designated areas, including King Faisal Road, a main thoroughfare reserved for buses transporting pilgrims from Mecca. The successful implementation of these technologies has ensured a smoother and safer pilgrimage for millions of Muslims. This year's Hajj demonstrates the potential of technology to improve crowd control and safety at large-scale events worldwide.
