Swiss Village Samnaun: A Hidden Gem for Saving Thousands While Working Abroad
A recent online video by content creator Ale Lupidi highlights the Swiss village of Samnaun as a surprising hub for significant savings, claiming to have personally saved $12,000 in just five months while living there. Lupidi, who has resided in Samnaun for a year and a half, shared insights into the unique advantages of this mountainous location. According to Lupidi, a key benefit is Samnaun's tax-free status, allowing residents to purchase items like perfumes, alcohol, and cigarettes at prices comparable to or even lower than those in Spain. Furthermore, the village's proximity to Austria enables residents to acquire necessities at half the price while earning a Swiss salary. Another significant advantage for workers is that most jobs in Samnaun include both accommodation and food, drastically reducing living expenses. Lupidi also noted that proficiency in German is not a prerequisite for employment in Samnaun, with English being sufficient due to the village's small and somewhat isolated nature. However, he pointed out a drawback: the village offers limited recreational activities and has a sparse Latin American community. Despite this, he suggests it is an ideal place for couples to live, work, and accumulate substantial savings before moving on.
