Malaysia Unveils Six New Security Initiatives at UN Meeting Kuala Lumpur, May 15, 2025 – Malaysia has announced six new security initiatives at a United Nations Security Council meeting in Berlin. The initiatives, presented by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Khalid Noruddin, demonstrate Malaysia's commitment to international peace and security. Key initiatives include the registration of a Malaysian infantry battalion under the UN's Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (PCRS), enhancing the capabilities of Malaysian Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units operating in Lebanon, and a commitment to provide continuous UN training courses. The minister also highlighted Malaysia's dedication to the Women, Peace, and Security agenda.
