Malaysia Fights Vape Menace, Modernizes Farms
Malaysia Addresses Growing Vape Concerns and Modernizes Agriculture Kuala Lumpur, June 3, 2025 – Malaysia is tackling two key issues simultaneously: the rising dangers of vaping and the modernization of its agricultural sector. In Kedah, the state government is considering a complete ban on e-cigarettes due to concerns about their impact on public health. "The sale of vapes needs to be stopped entirely," stated Datuk Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad, chairman of the Kedah chapter of the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation, emphasizing the presence of synthetic drugs in some products. Meanwhile, in Perak, the government is distributing RM47.68 million worth of equipment to farmers. "This initiative will reduce operating costs and increase income through agricultural work," said Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, at the distribution ceremony. One farmer, Mohd Nor Mat Jam, expressed his gratitude, noting the improved efficiency of the new equipment compared to older tools. The government's actions reflect a commitment to both public health and agricultural progress in Malaysia.
