Cochabamba Carpentry Shop Fire: Neighbors' Quick Action Prevents Tragedy

A fire broke out in a carpentry workshop in the southern Cochabamba zone at approximately 3:00 AM on June 10, 2025. Neighbors sprang into action, using their own resources to begin extinguishing the flames before the arrival of the fire department. One neighbor commented, "We were terrified the fire would spread to our homes." Firefighters arrived around 4:30 AM and worked alongside the neighbors to fully contain the blaze. Fortunately, no human lives were lost, although the carpentry shop suffered significant material damage, and sadly, two pets perished in the fire.
