
Millions Invested: Samaná's New Boardwalk and Infrastructure Projects Inaugurated
Samaná, Dominican Republic, June 2, 2025 – President Luis Abinader and Tourism Minister David Collado inaugurated key infrastructure projects in Samaná this past Sunday. The most prominent is a newly constructed boardwalk, representing an investment exceeding 553 million pesos. This substantial investment aims to boost tourism and mitigate flooding issues in the area. "The economic development is a combination of infrastructure and legal frameworks that incentivize job creation," stated President Abinader during his address. The project also included improvements to the drainage system, preventing flooding during rainy seasons. Minister Collado emphasized the positive impact of these improvements, stating, "These works will significantly increase tourism in Santa Bárbara and the rest of Samaná." Beyond the boardwalk, the inauguration included the newly remodeled Santa Bárbara parish, costing over 24 million pesos. The event showcased the government's commitment to infrastructure development and tourism growth in Samaná.
