
First Lady and Banco Popular Renovate Key Maternity Hospital in Dominican Republic
Santiago, Dominican Republic – In a collaborative effort to improve maternal and neonatal healthcare, the Banco Popular Dominicano, through its Fundación Popular, partnered with First Lady Raquel Arbaje and the Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS) to fully renovate the Maternidad Doña Renée Klang de Guzmán. The project, exceeding RD$41 million in investment, with RD$31 million contributed by Banco Popular, modernized various areas including pre- and postpartum wards, operating rooms, and administrative spaces. "This renovation represents a significant step forward in ensuring access to quality healthcare for mothers and newborns," stated a representative from Fundación Popular. The improvements, which include upgraded climate control, lighting, and sanitation systems, are expected to benefit over 30,000 women and infants annually. This initiative showcases a commitment to improving healthcare access and quality in the region, highlighting the positive impact of public-private partnerships.
