Parents Protest: Dominican School Inaugurated Without Equipment
Parents Protest Unfinished School in Santo Domingo Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – Parents and guardians of students at the Fray Ramón Pané school in the Jardines del Norte sector are protesting the school's inauguration without essential equipment and safety measures. The school, inaugurated on November 13, 2024, currently lacks electricity, fans, running water, and safety railings on the second and third floors. "It's a dangerous situation," said one mother, who asked to remain anonymous. "Our children are at risk of falling from the upper floors because there are no safety measures." Another parent, speaking on camera, highlighted the lack of basic amenities. "The children suffer from the heat. There are no fans, no water, and the school is dusty because there's no one to clean it." The school administration has not yet commented on the situation. The parents are demanding that the necessary improvements be made before the new school year begins.
