Families in Durlesti, Moldova, are receiving 10,000 lei each after a fire damaged their apartments on May 16, 2025. The government is providing this aid to help cover immediate expenses and basic needs. Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu, stated that specialists are assessing each family's situation to provide further support. The fire destroyed 1500 square meters of the building's roof. Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea has requested an urgent technical expertise, and the Durlesti City Council has allocated 1 million lei from the reserve fund to assist the affected families. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. "We are providing initial aid to help families cover their expenses and meet their basic needs," said Minister Buzu.
