Moldovan Capital Hit by Severe Storm, Residents Urged to Stay Safe

Chisinau, Moldova, was hit by a severe storm on May 21, 2025. Strong winds caused widespread damage, uprooting dozens of trees and damaging several cars. The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) warned residents to take safety precautions. Municipal workers and the Green Spaces Management Association worked to clear debris and repair damage. One resident commented, "The wind was incredibly strong; I've never seen anything like it." Meteorologists predict more unstable weather in the coming days, with the possibility of further rain and thunderstorms. However, the recent rains have been beneficial for agriculture in some areas.
