The iData Consumer Sentiment Index plummeted to -23 in May 2025, indicating widespread pessimism. Nearly 40% of respondents reported a worsening economic situation compared to the previous three months, while a substantial majority (67%) expect prices to rise in the near future. Mihai Bologan, director of iData, stated, "The results show a clear pessimism among consumers regarding the current economic situation." The survey, conducted using a representative sample of 1006 respondents, highlights the need for economic policy adjustments to address public concerns.
