Two Children Rescued from Drowning in Orhei on First Day of Summer

On the first day of summer in Orhei, Moldova, two minors narrowly escaped drowning. A 15-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy were separately rescued by emergency services. Liliana Pușcașu, press officer for IGSU, stated, "In this context, IGSU urges adults to supervise children with increased attention." She also noted that 20 people, including four minors, have drowned in Moldova since the start of 2025. The rescues serve as a stark reminder of the importance of water safety and adult supervision.
