
Eyewitness Video Captures Arrest of Suspect in Deadly DC Museum Shooting
On Wednesday night, May 21, 2025, a shooting occurred near the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., resulting in the tragic deaths of two Israeli Embassy employees. Eyewitness video, obtained by CNN, shows the suspect being apprehended by police. The Washington Metropolitan Police Department identified the suspect as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago. According to Chief Pamela Smith, "Prior to the shooting, the suspect was observed pacing back and forth outside of the museum. He approached a group of four people, produced a handgun, and opened fire, striking both of our decedents." Following the shooting, Rodriguez entered the museum and was quickly apprehended. The incident is currently under investigation, and the community mourns the loss of the two embassy employees.
