Exclusive Video: Suspect Arrested in Deadly Washington D.C. Shooting
On Wednesday night, May 21, a shooting near the Jewish Museum in Washington D.C. resulted in the tragic deaths of two Israeli embassy employees. Eyewitness video obtained by CNN shows the suspect, identified by police as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago, being apprehended. According to Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith, "Prior to the shooting, the suspect was observed pacing back and forth outside of the museum. He approached a group of four people, produced a handgun, and opened fire, striking both of our deceased." The video footage supports the police account and provides a visual record of the events leading up to and following the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, but the swift arrest of the suspect offers some measure of closure to the grieving families and the community.
