Omiš, Croatia – A massive wildfire ignited this morning near the towns of Pisak, Marušići, and Mimice, situated east of Omiš in Croatia's Dalmatia region. Strong winds have severely exacerbated the situation, causing the flames to spread rapidly and engulfing several residential properties. Authorities have confirmed that the fire has necessitated the evacuation of both local residents and tourists from the affected areas. In response to the escalating danger, the Adriatic highway in the vicinity has been closed to traffic, impacting regional transportation. More than 250 firefighters are currently on the ground, tirelessly working to contain the blaze, supported by aerial firefighting units. Croatian police have initiated an investigation into the incident, stating that preliminary findings suggest the fire was deliberately set. The investigation is ongoing as emergency services continue their efforts to bring the devastating fire under control.
