Mangalia, Romania – Cristian Radu, the Mayor of Mangalia, has issued a heartfelt appeal to Romanian citizens, urging them to prioritize domestic consumption and local tourism to foster national economic growth. In a video address, Mayor Radu emphasized that patronizing foreign-owned supermarkets, malls, and opting for international vacations results in significant capital outflow, directly impacting Romania's ability to fund essential infrastructure projects and improve living standards. "If all our money leaves the country, we won't have the funds to rebuild our infrastructure," stated Mayor Radu, highlighting the need for collective effort. He encouraged Romanians to rediscover the beauty of their own coastline, from Corbu to Vama Veche, and lamented the media's tendency to focus on negative aspects rather than showcasing the country's beautiful tourist destinations. "It's regrettable that we have media showing the ugly side of the Romanian coast, but not the beautiful side," he added. The mayor underscored that while challenges exist, a unified approach to support local businesses and tourism is crucial for the country's reconstruction and prosperity.
