The video's timestamp shows the suspect passing by a house a few blocks from the murder scene at approximately 2:51 p.m. and reappearing at 3:02 p.m. The footage shows the suspect pausing to fiddle with the briefcase before continuing on. Several hours later, viewer video shows Durham Regional Police in a backyard about an hour away from the crime scene on foot. "We saw the helicopters and all the police in action last night," said a local resident interviewed by CTV News, whose home backs onto the house in question. The resident also noted that a 14-year-old lived in the home. The suspect's capture highlights the importance of community surveillance and the swift response of law enforcement.
