Vinted Implements Strict New Policies, Sparking Outcry Among Resellers London, UK – Popular online marketplace Vinted is facing a wave of criticism following the announcement of new terms and conditions set to take effect on September 8, 2025. The updated policies target common practices among sellers, particularly those involved in reselling, leading to widespread concern and reports of account bans. According to a video by content creator "Culture Force," the new rules prohibit users from "deleting and re-listing the same item multiple times or multiple items in bulk." This change directly impacts a long-standing strategy used by sellers to push their items to the top of buyer feeds without paying for Vinted's "bump" feature. "It pushes it back to the top of the buyers' feed," Culture Force explained regarding the old practice, now warning that using the same images and item names will result in a permanent ban. The platform is also cracking down on the use of "external software tools including bots, scraping programs, crawling programs, spiders" for purposes such as promoting items or adding to favorites. Many resellers rely on these tools to quickly "snipe items super cheap" and facilitate their side hustles. While Culture Force acknowledged that banning bots could make "crazy steals" more accessible to general buyers, he expressed strong disapproval of Vinted's approach, stating, "threatening to ban their own sellers and treating them like this will only end in disaster for Vinted eventually." The announcement has ignited a fierce debate among Vinted users, with some supporting the move to curb professional reselling and make the platform fairer for casual buyers, while others express frustration over the perceived attack on small businesses and the push towards paid promotional features.
