Las Vegas, Nevada – Renowned DJ Diplo shared his extraordinary experience of being stranded at the Burning Man festival in Nevada, which was hit by unprecedented heavy rains, turning the desert playa into a deep mud pit. Speaking live on CNN, Diplo detailed his arduous journey to escape the festival grounds. "I tried the duct tape and walking boots, but they got pretty heavy with mud, like three pounds each," he explained, describing the initial struggle. He recounted walking several miles through the treacherous mud alongside comedian Chris Rock, supermodel Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber, Austin Butler, and Randy Gerber. "The main issue was getting a car out of there; it was really impossible when it's muddy because you're going to get stuck," Diplo stated, clarifying why walking was the only viable option. The group eventually found a ride on a fan's truck, and later, a sprinter van driven by a local named Tony, who was paid $1,000 for the ride to the airport. Diplo dispelled sensationalized rumors, emphasizing the resilience of the Burning Man community. "There wasn't any Ebola breakout, there wasn't any cannibalism," he affirmed, noting that many attendees continued with their art, making mud sculptures, and enjoying the extended stay. Diplo successfully made it to his scheduled show in Washington D.C.
