Lima, Peru – The Peruvian Congress has officially approved the eighth withdrawal of funds from the Administradoras de Fondos de Pensiones (AFP), allowing contributors to access up to 4 Unidades Impositivas Tributarias (UIT), equivalent to S/ 21,400. This legislative measure now awaits promulgation by President Dina Boluarte, who has previously indicated her support for the initiative. Following the law's publication in El Peruano, the Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS) will be granted a 30-day period to establish the operational procedures and a detailed timeline for the withdrawals. Experts estimate that the law could be promulgated around September 19, 2025, with the SBS regulation published by September 29, 2025. Consequently, the initiation of withdrawal applications is projected for October 6, 2025. The disbursement of funds will be structured into four monthly installments, each separated by 30 days. The estimated dates for these withdrawals are: November 5, 2025 (first), December 5, 2025 (second), January 4, 2026 (third), and February 3, 2026 (fourth). The window for submitting withdrawal requests will remain open for 90 days from the procedure's commencement, extending until early January 2026. This development is expected to significantly impact a large segment of the Peruvian population.
