A new policy implemented in schools, requiring students to deposit their mobile phones in lockers at the start of the day and retrieve them after classes, has sparked significant frustration among parents, students, and teachers. One parent, Elena Tonchinskaya, shared her experience, describing the system as a "complete mess." She recounted how her son forgot his phone in the locker, leading to a lengthy wait for a teacher to open it. "We had to wait for the teacher to come and open the locker for us," Tonchinskaya stated, highlighting the initial inconvenience. The situation reportedly escalates at the end of the school day when multiple classes attempt to retrieve their devices simultaneously. Tonchinskaya described a scene of chaos: "Ten classes, thirty people each, come, and there's such a crush. I was simply knocked off my feet, children are pushing, falling, shouting." She also pointed out an organizational flaw where all keys for fifth-grade lockers are on a single bunch, causing further delays if one teacher is using them. The policy, intended to reduce screen time during school hours, appears to be causing unforeseen logistical challenges and safety concerns due to overcrowding and disorganization. The sentiment among the school community, according to Tonchinskaya, is one of widespread shock and dissatisfaction with the new regulation.
