Bogotá, Colombia – William Fernando González Cruz, known as “El Hermano,” has been formally charged with attempted homicide, using minors in the commission of crimes, and illegal possession of firearms. González Cruz is the fourth individual to be implicated in the attack targeting Miguel Uribe. Sources from the Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that his capture was legalized before a municipal criminal judge with control of guarantees in Bogotá. The legal process proceeded with a reserved diligence, followed by the formal imputation of charges. Authorities are currently awaiting a third diligence to define the measure of assurance against González Cruz, with the possibility of his confinement in a bunker not being ruled out. Investigations suggest that González Cruz acted as the driver, waiting for two other alleged participants in the attack. The investigative body may add new charges to “El Hermano’s” file as inquiries progress.
